How to care for your extensions and wigs

Choose your product below to find the right care routine. For a lace wig, also see the Lace section. For wavy or curly hair, complete your routine with the Texture advice.

01 — Extensions

Caring for your Raw Hair extensions

Extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp along their lengths. A gentle routine helps preserve their softness. Adjust washing frequency to wear, perspiration and product build-up.

01

Detangle without pulling

Divide hair into small sections. Support the lengths above the knot, start at the ends and work gently upwards with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. For curly textures, detangle damp hair with conditioner.

02

Wash in the direction of the hair

For uninstalled bundles, hold the wefts together and run lukewarm water from the wefts to the ends. Apply a gentle shampoo, then rinse thoroughly. Do not rub the hair into a ball or twist it.

03

Condition the lengths

Apply conditioner to the lengths and ends, following its recommended processing time. Detangle gently if needed, then rinse. Add a suitable mask when the lengths become dry, without overloading the attachment points.

04

Dry completely

Gently squeeze out water with a microfibre towel. Let uninstalled bundles air-dry in a ventilated place. For installed extensions, thoroughly dry the base with gentle heat before bed.

05

Style in moderation

Use a small amount of product to preserve movement. Apply heat protectant before using a heated tool. Use straighteners only on dry hair, at the lowest effective temperature, and limit repeated passes.

06

Protect at night and store

For installed extensions, loosely braid or tie the hair without tension and protect it with satin or silk. Store removed bundles clean, detangled and completely dry. Avoid cutting wefts; leave adjustments to your hairdresser.

Installed extensions: follow your hairdresser's instructions for your installation method. Keep oils and treatments away from attachment points; thoroughly dry the base and attachment areas.

02 — Wigs

Caring for your wig

This routine suits our natural-hair wigs, both ready-to-wear and custom wigs. Wash them when residue, perspiration or heaviness makes it necessary.

Before washing

Remove the wig gently. If it is glued on, first follow the Lace advice below. Detangle small sections from ends to roots, supporting the lengths to avoid pulling on the cap or knots.

Wash the cap and hair

Use lukewarm water and a gentle shampoo. Gently clean the inside of the cap with your fingertips, then wash the lengths in the direction of the hair. Do not rub the lace or twist the wig. Rinse thoroughly.

Apply conditioner

Apply conditioner to the lengths and ends. Avoid oils and thick treatments directly on the lace and knots. Follow the product's processing time and rinse without tangling the hair.

Dry and style

Pat with a soft towel. Air-dry on a suitable ventilated stand without stretching the cap or lace. The cap must be completely dry before storage. Use heat protectant and moderate heat when styling.

Between uses

Remove your wig before sleeping whenever possible. Store it clean and dry on a suitable stand or in a satin pouch, away from humidity. After exercise, air and thoroughly dry the cap; wash it if necessary.

03 — Lace

Protect your lace and its knots

Handling and installation

Lace is the fine mesh on which the hair is knotted. Handle your wig by the cap, never by pulling on the lace. Support the hair while detangling to reduce tension on the knots.

If you are not experienced, ask a professional to cut the lace, customise the hairline or bleach knots. Cutting too close to the knots or excessive bleaching can weaken them.

Remove glue gently

Never pull the wig off. Use a remover compatible with your adhesive and lace, following the manufacturer's instructions. Allow the stated time, then remove gradually without force.

If the lace resists, continue removal according to the product instructions. Avoid scraping residue with nails, a stiff brush or a sharp object.

Clean and protect

Clean residue gently, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid rubbing the knots or saturating the lace with oils, thick treatments or styling products.

Let it dry completely without stretching the lace. Avoid direct heat on the lace. If it tears or knots loosen, stop handling it and contact us before attempting a repair.

04 — Textures

Adapt your routine to your texture

This advice complements washing your extensions or wig. Detangling and styling vary with texture: keep the routine light and avoid repeated handling.

Straight hair

Detangle gently as needed, starting at the ends. A small amount of lightweight conditioner on the lengths is often enough. Avoid build-up of oils and serums, which can weigh the hair down.

Straightening is not necessary after every wash. If you use straighteners, work on dry hair with heat protectant.

Wavy hair

Detangle gently with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, preferably while conditioning. Apply a small amount of lightweight leave-in or suitable mousse to damp hair, then gently scrunch the lengths upwards.

Air-dry or use a diffuser with gentle heat. Limit handling while drying to preserve the waves.

Curly hair

Detangle small sections of damp hair with a conditioner that provides slip. Start at the ends without pulling. Avoid dry brushing, which separates curls and encourages frizz.

Apply a lightweight treatment to damp hair, shape the curls with your fingers and let dry with minimal handling. Between washes, a light mist of water and a little product can help redefine them. Protect the lengths at night.

Answers to frequently asked questions

A simple, consistent routine is better than accumulating products. Hair condition depends on wear, care, heat and treatments.

How often should I wash my hair?+

There is no single schedule. Wash when hair has product build-up, looks dull or feels less supple, or after significant perspiration. Adjust to your use; avoid overwashing a wig you rarely wear.

Which products should I use?+

Start with a gentle shampoo and moisturising conditioner. Add a lightweight leave-in if needed and heat protectant before heat styling. Rinse rinse-out products thoroughly and limit oils and heavy products. Not all alcohols are drying: fatty alcohols in some products condition the hair.

Can I colour or bleach the hair?+

These treatments can change texture and weaken hair. Test a small strand and favour a professional, especially for significant lightening or knot bleaching. After treatment, adapt your care and reduce heat.

What should I do about tangles or dryness?+

Do not pull. Work in small sections with a conditioner that provides slip. If there is product build-up, gently wash and condition, and reduce heat. If tangles persist or shedding is significant, contact us with photos.

Can I swim in a pool or the sea?+

Remove your wig before swimming whenever possible. For installed extensions, limit chlorine and salt exposure, wet the lengths with fresh water before entering and protect them with a suitable swimming cap. Rinse promptly afterwards, then wash and condition if necessary. Thoroughly dry the base and attachment points.
